Interviewing/hiring in a #COVID19 world requires flexibility & adaptability for candidates & hiring managers (ironically the most sought after qualities in companies & employees) Keep these things in mind:
😱 Don’t panic. This is being addressed on a global level & while things feel upside down now, it won’t last forever.
💻📱Keep interviewing & keep applying. Use Zoom, Webex, FaceTime, or the old fashion phone call to keep interviews moving. When this calms down & you still need a job or to fill that position you’ll be grateful you kept moving
📞💰☕️Network your butt off right now. USE LinkedIn! Instead of just scrolling through, comment, engage, connect. Don’t cancel your coffee or lunch meeting-move if you a virtual one instead. No, it’s not the same. Get over it & keep going
👩🏽💻👨🏾🎨🧑🔧🧑🏻🎓Build your skills. If you have extra time on your hands (with the above you shouldn’t but just in case) use LinkedIn Learning, YouTube, or your public library’s online resources to improve your skills & learn something new.
Most importantly, Be kind. Be patient. Do the work.
