What’s Right with People: A Reader’s ‘Manifesto’

February 4th 2020 in Uncategorized

I’ve always been a book lover and avid reader. There’s just something about a book that only a bibliophile can understand. Dedicated readers understand the value of lifelong learning because they live it each time they place eyes on a page or press play on an audiobook.

One thing I have come to understand on my entrepreneurial journey is that it is easy to lose track of our passion for things that feed our soul and exchange them for an unhealthy obsession with ‘busy’. The best entrepreneurs, creatives, and other types of builders move beyond ‘hustle’ and learn to balance their time so it includes healthy activities (gym, family dinners, meditation, coffee conversations, etc.). Reading, to me, is one of those healthy choices that need priority because the insight it provides can only serve to make me better. I read to learn about the human condition because people ARE my business and they’re the most important asset any organization can have. Learning about people is of value to us all.

I’ll soon be launching a weekly review of books aimed at entrepreneurs, professionals, freelancers, and anyone who wants to get a better grasp of understanding how people navigate and conduct business in today’s world. My ultimate intention is to share insights and hopefully inspire you to make a habit out of reading.

I believe that reading is a foundation of learning and that learning is the foundation of all we do in society.

The world needs more learners.

The world needs more readers.

I hope you’ll join me in this social media ‘book club’/experiment.
